Jesus Every Day

A Book Review

Sometimes you strike gold . . .

When was the last time you picked up a book and were blown away by the first sentence? Magic, right?

That happened to me when I picked up Mary DeMuth’s book, Jesus Every Day, pictured here. For anyone who has followed me for awhile, you know that I love Scripture praying. Taking those special passages, letting them sink into your bones, then creating powerful prayers from them.

(I can see God’s beaming smile now. Can you?)

Mary has created a unique and beautiful daily prayer journal using verses from both the Old and New Testaments, one for each day of the year. That the Scriptures are compelling, convicting, and life-altering goes without saying.

But, tell me. What are we to do with this knee-bending, thought-provoking, breath-robbing prose from page 43 of the book:

“Jesus, you are so completely other than me.”

Mary sends Scripture-based prayers soaring to a whole new stratosphere. But it also deep dives–down to where we live, where we try to hide, where we pretend that everything’s okay with us. Where we lurk behind our shuttered windows and dead-bolted doors. Where we think no one sees … but God sees.

I can’t stress enough–you must get this book.

If you take that challenge, and actually open and read it, be prepared to do some deep cleaning in the caverns of your heart and your motives, to brush the dust and cobwebs of spiritual complacency out the back door of your soul; and then to breathe in the delightful fragrance of Creator God as He hums over you, shapes you, remaking you, re-purposing you, and reminds you that He has loved you with an everlasting love.

If you’re looking for a prayer-changing, life-transforming book, click the link above to go to Amazon and buy. It’ll cost you less than one dinner out. And if you’d like to connect with Mary, click on her name to go to her website.

Drop me a line if you take me up on this challenge. Tell me what you think. (I read and respond to every email personally.)

Better yet, drop Mary a line on her website; and don’t forget to write a review on Amazon, and tell all your friends about it.

You won’t be disappointed.
