Faces
The Front Door of the Human Soul
Have you considered the significance of a human face?
Molded by the Creator. Each one branded with His Name. No two exactly alike. Known by Him, caressed by Him, shaped by Him.
Faces are the front door of the soul.
I remember like yesterday the first time I looked into the faces of each of my three children. They were moments of breathtaking wonder. I stroked cheek bones, smoothed hair, and traced tender lips, awestruck by the fact that this child looked like me . . . but didn’t. God creates unique humans, each one distinct from all others.
Next time you’re out and about, look around you. Don’t just hustle around taking care of business, the faces around you blurred in your rush. Pause. Look. At God’s marvelous, creative expressions of Himself.
And remember that each face—born or unborn, young or old, angry or smiling—was once cupped by the hands of God, touched by His fingers, caressed by His breath.
The human face–no two alike, but all completely known by Him.
Oh . . . and when you arrive home, look in the mirror. Remind yourself that your face is precious to Him, and that you have the only model in existence.

“Known by Him, caressed by Him, shaped by Him.” What a lovely thought. Thank you, Deb.
Isn’t it? “Lovely thoughts” keep us sane these days, right?
Thanks for reading and commenting, Diana. Have a great Tuesday!
Beautiful post, Deb.
He knows the number of our hairs, too. Now, if He would prevent the loss of more of them each year. Or the addition of wrinkles.
Seriously, a happy face is a beautiful face.
Great post, Deb
Thanks, Steve! Sometimes it seems like happy faces are in short supply these days…but, we just need to pay attention. They’re there.
Still mulling the pen plan. I’m going to do a Celebrate Lit Blog Tour in May, and part of the plan is to send out a pen along with a book for the drawing.

Yes, Sue. We have an astounding creative Creator, don’t we?
